Ali Clabburn: 2005 winner of the social/community category

When we entered for the 2005 awards we were high on enthusiasm but still relatively low on market impact. Winning the EYB award gave us a real leg up the ladder, opened our horizons and got people interested in what we were doing. Membership of liftshare.com has exploded from 50,000 to 290,000 people, taking 40,000 cars off the road every day and saving 20,000 tonnes of CO2. I enjoy keeping in contact with many of the other finalists and watching their enterprises grow. Being part of EYB helped us all.
James Murray Wells, Glasses Direct: 2005 winner of business entrepreneur category
Fraser Doherty: 2004 winner of the teen category
Fraser started making jam in his kitchen aged 14 and now sells over half a million jars of SuperJam every year stocked with the UK’s biggest retailers!
