What a bright spark!

At the age of 17 Adam Castleton decided to leave school halfway through his A levels to start uturn media, his own website design business. He won a Bright Sparks Award in Feburary 2007 through the Make Your Mark in Lowestoft campaign.

Two years later, his company attracts business from as far as America, and in January 2007 alone he made more profit than he had done for the whole of 2006.

Despite not having a university degree, the young entrepreneur has proved it is possible to live the dream. He found his niche in design at the tender age of 10, after being given a computer by his parents.

As director of uturn media, he works from an office in Beccles Road, Carlton Colville, to develop websites for companies all over the world.

Employing a graphic designer and programmer, they also design corporate identities, stationary and build bespoke text messaging solutions. Large clients are based in London and others in Europe and the US.

Adam’s plan now is to continue building his business, take on more employees and develop a wider customer base.
