Acumen was recognised for its success in the 2006 Enterprising Britain competition for creating an all-inclusive strategy for enterprise. Acumen has successfully encouraged and supported people to develop their business ideas and stimulated an entrepreneurial culture in the deprived area of Horden and Easington Colliery, East Durham.
