East Midlands Enterprising Places Network (EPN) held its second event in Leicester on the 12th February. Entitled “Leicester and the creative industries sector - driving enterprise or creating good added value”, the event took place at the recently opened Phoenix Square, the new digital media centre for the city, giving the event a helpful focus on the creative sector and Leicester’s burgeoning Cultural Quarter.

Over 35 delegates attended the York and North Yorkshire Enterprise Café to share experiences and understanding of enterprise education. The event was managed by NYBEP and ably facilitated by James who kept people to time and ensured that outcomes were achieved.

The search is now on for the brightest young business brains aged 30 and under. Entrepreneurs from across the UK can now submit their entries to the prestigious Enterprising Young Brits competition, the annual search to unearth the best young entrepreneurs in the UK.

News Story: Local Inspiration Helps Students Beat 73,000 Young Entrepreneurs To Win The UK’s Largest Enterprise Competition

Green minded pupils from Waldegrave School in Twickenham, London and Plymouth College in the South West have triumphed ahead of 73,000 other students to win the top prize at the national final of the 2009 Make Your Mark Challenge - the UK’s largest enterprise challenge for 14-19 year olds.

The Waldegrave School students were victorious in the 14-16 category and Plymouth College in the 16-19 category of the competition after each battling it out against 11 other teams from around the country at the National Finals yesterday (Thursday December 10 2009)
