Start Up: Travel and Tourism

Enterprise UK is introducing an exciting new competition for Further Education students. Entry is free and winners will be invited to run their business for real.

Start Up:Travel and Tourism challenges learners to submit their ideas for a tourism business in their local area. Successful entrants will be guided by ‘stepping stones’ to develop the Marketing and Finance aspect of their businesses.

The ‘stepping stones’ will consist of real and online seminars and tools, followed by participants submitting a relevant plan. Regional winners will then be invited to run their business, with their results presented at a major industry event. Start Up: Travel and Tourism will be open to teams of Further Education students studying courses up to Level 3.

A tutor will be needed to coordinate the competition in colleges, and Enterprise UK will be providing resources, a website and support in finding speakers. Entries will be judged on originality, sustainability, quality and viability.
